Contest for everything
Sorry for not writing but I got a ton of work to do. We are hold 4 contest that my boss and a few people are working on. We have a contest for DJ’s, Bands, Actors, fans and now we are making another one for models. It is a huge brake for yippi.com but work ever ends. We are going to try to get everything done by Monday of next week since thanksgiving day is on the way. I make 2 website this week on yippi.com/gauntletsoundtrack and yippi.com/gauntletdj for the people who like to become a DJ or have their song on the movie soundtrack for the movie. On top of the contest are internet is running very slow and the server is been crashing for the past week or more. The models contest is still up in the air and we are trying to see on what we can do to make is easy and also great at the same time.
On other news on yippi.com, I finally got a program that will help me edit videos and also greek street will be over and done with. We been working on it for months and it is getting to the point where it will be done no matter on what it looks like. In truth it looks great and everyone like it but Dana the person who paying us to make and host the website. Hopefully my boss can convince her to like it or just be done with it. The problem is that they want the whole site too look like the city when we can’t really do that because it will not only be very hard but the design she wants look very bad.

Spamming and websites
For the pass few days we are now trying to get people at hi5.com so I made account and just tell every actor on that site to join yippi.com and enter in the contest for actors. We don’t call it “spamming” we call it “information people about the contest.” So in turn we are going to tell everyone about the contest on hi5.com. I had been work on that on Wednesday and Friday. Also made some flyers for a party that is going to happened on New Years Eve. The guy, Terry, likes the splash for the website and wanted it animated. So I had to make some splash pages that are flash animated. Took most of Friday to finish it up. Other then that nothing much but sign people up for yippi.com.

5,000 people
Over the weekend we have a total of 5,000 people sign up with yippi.com. That is a ton of people! 4 people are working of the e-mails and I am working on Greek Street. There was not much to work on. I did finish it up and send it to Dana on her e-mail address. Yippi.com been going up and down today. It’s been down most of the day so work here been slow. The programs are hard work on the errors and coding on the website the designers are sending e-mail and work on the gauntlet movie. I am helping any way I can and also work on some thing for class every now and then.
So far the website is up and running again and a lot of the errors are fix and the website is running smoother. We are trying to send e-mail to all these 5,000 people and now more people are sign up by the min. it is hard to keep up with the website but we are doing the best we can. We got new people helping us and also leaving a dent in the 5,000 we need to e-mail. The work never ends and more people are sign on by the min. It will never end!

Art Show - November 3, 2007
iNano Video
On November 3 I went to an art show for the Business Meeting that we have to do this month for class. I am not going to tell the whole story until November the 16 where we have to meet again. I will only say that the food was great, got some free wine, and also a free iNano Video! I have pictures and also some papers about the event and the people who won medals. There were some people that make some great advertisements around Houston like “Lucy’s Legacy” and “HoustonCronicals.com.” I will tell more next time when we have the next meeting.

Teaching Teachers?
Alright, this week was pretty alright. We are getting caught up with the gauntlet page and also with the people. This week was a relaxing week. Nothing much and the server was being tested throw out this whole week. Since the server was going up and down this week, we did not do much but just some small work. Yippikya.com has now changed to yippi.com. So we had to change the logo again! More work for me. Other then that nothing much been going on. Greek Street is going well and it is almost done! I know I been saying it for a long time but we are going to get it finish soon. I can’t wait to stop working on it. I have been working on it for months. I been getting out early this week (5 pm instead of 6 pm) I been working but there is not much to do but little changes. I am enjoying it while it last. For this week I change the gauntlet page a few times and also work on a new banner for the Greek Street since the boss wants it green and also with the new logo (yippi.com) on the top.
I might get a new job at yippi.com. The teachers do not know how to use the pages on yippi.com or even how to log in. This will cause a problem since and the student will run the show if the teacher don’t know how to do it. So now they need a person to teach them. Leslie talk to me about since they know that I use to tutor people on Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. They are asking me to teach the teacher on website, pages, and also how to control the kids too. I might take the offer but then again it will be more work on my part and I don’t think the teacher will like a 22 year old to teach them about computer, it might hurt their pride. It will be after school in the HISD area. We still don’t know about the whole thing since it has not been set in stone. The problem is that some teacher don’t know a thing about the internet and the ones that do know a bit still don’t know enough. The kids are running the place when it comes to the internet. Today at Yippikya.com was pretty slow. Not many people showed up because Jennifer and John (the two main bosses) where out doing other things. So only Charles (boss of the design department) and me where at work writing and responding to other people on Yippikya.com. I think the only reason people did not show is because tons of people went to party for Halloween this week end so most people are tired, drunk, or just don’t want to go. I only did some T-shirt designs for Leslie and also finish on the Greek Street (finally!). We are almost done with it and I am so glade that it will be over and done with! Happy Day!!! Other then that nothing much. I am going to leave early since there is not much for me to do ( Finally finish up the work) and also tired from last night ( I went out to a party on Sunday). The best thing about this job is that I can leave early if I want to. I don’t do it all the time because that would make me seem lazy but when I am doing not much at work, why not? The boss dose not mind I leave a bit early if I ask him a head of time. That and I was work my butt off last week.
Work was not much but as always the drama is. Since the two guys from the video department left we are looking for people that can do video and also some people to work on design with Leslie (the music producer). If you like to go to parties and film and do video editing then leave a comment. MC, one of the yippi girls, is leave us but we have a ton of other girls that will work with us. Ribith is getting people to sign up (wow she is doing WORK) and is trying to market herself on Yippikya.
At lunch at Yippikya.com we talk about guys, parties, and girls. One of the guys that left (the video guy with a kid on the way) brought his “friend” that is a girl .This might sound odd but the girl said “this is my friend who I love.” We all know that is the girl who he is having a child with but then again it is not my business to say anything. The whole yippi group thought that was odd for HER to say that but then again it is their relationship. We where talking about it at lunch most of the time. Other then that, nothing much been going on.

October 24 – October 26
The Gauntlet Movie is now doing addition for the movie and we got over 700 people to join on Yippikya.com and more are still coming in. This week was very busy since we are going to make a movie and contest for the movie too. I had to make 2 web pages. www.yippykya.com/gauntlet and www.yippykya.com/gauntletextras. The gauntlet extras was made first and my boss really like it, better then the first one ( www.yippykya.com/gauntlet) Someone else made the main gauntlet page and my boss did not like it that much so he make me to the main page over again. It is not that hard to do but just takes time. I did not mind since he like my designs better then the other people’s works. It not only keeps me busy but it helps to past the time. All this week we have been working on the web pages and also the contest too. We are holding 2 contests for the movie. Check out the websites and see if you like them.
